Prawn Fry

Today I am sharing my brother's prawn fry / shrimp fry / chemmeen fry recipe. Its such an awesome recipe that my hubby wants me to make this every time. Thanks Nishant Chetta for this simple and delicious Prawn fry recipe.

Ingredients

Prawns / Shrimp ~ 15 Nos ( I used Jumbo Shrimp )
Chilly powder ~ 1 tbsp
Pepper powder ~ 1 tsp
Turmeric powder ~ 1/4 tsp
Chopped ginger and garlic ~ 1 1/2 tbsp
Lemon juice ~ 2 tbsp
Water ~ 1-2 tbsp
Salt
Oil

Method

  • Clean the shrimps and keep it aside.
  • Grind Chilly powder, Pepper powder, Turmeric powder ,Ginger, Garlic , Salt, Lemon juice and water to a fine paste.
  • Marinate the shrimps with this paste and refrigerate it for 30 minutes - 1 hour. I usually keep it  for 1 hour.
  • Then heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the shrimps. Turn it around when one side becomes golden brown in color.Fry both sides till its done.

Have with Tomato sauce / Chutney.

Cheers,
